Tuna Sandwich | Not So Junky - by Chef Siddharth | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Healthy and creamy tuna mixture sandwiched with tossed brown bread. Watch this video to find out how to make this recipe.

TUNA SANDWICH

Ingredients

1 cup tinned tuna
12 multigrain bread slices
1 medium onion, peeled
2 tablespoons mayonnaise + for spreading
3 tablespoons yogurt
1-2 stalks spring onion greens, chopped
1 teaspoon red chilli flakes
Salt to taste
200 grams frozen potato wedges
Olive oil spray as required
Salad dressing
2 teaspoons white wine vinegar
Salt to taste
Crushed black peppercorns to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salad
4-5 cherry tomatoes
5-6 black olives, pitted
4-5 iceberg lettuce leaves
3-4 romaine lettuce leaves
Spice mix
2 teaspoons onion powder
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
Salt to taste


Method

1. Halve and slice onion. Transfer in a bowl. Add mayonnaise and yogurt and mix well.
2. Add tuna, spring onion greens, chilli flakes and salt to onion mixture and mix well. Refrigerate.
3. Toast the bread slices in an electric bread toaster till light golden.
4. Preheat an air-fryer to 180° C.
5. To prepare dressing, take white wine vinegar in a jar. Add salt, crushed peppercorns and olive oil, cover and shake well.
6. Take potato wedges in a bowl. Spray some olive oil on top and toss well.
7. Put the potato wedges in the preheated air-fryer and air-fry for 10-12 minutes or till golden brown and crisp.
8. To prepare salad, horizontally halve the cherry tomatoes and black olives.
9. Roughly tear iceberg lettuce leaves and place in a bowl. Add romaine lettuce leaves, halved black olives and cherry tomatoes and mix well.
10. To prepare spice mix, take onion powder in a bowl. Add garlic powder, paprika and salt and mix well.
11. Spread some mayonnaise on one side of each toasted bread slice.
12. To prepare one portion, spread tuna mixture on the mayonnaise side of 2 toasted bread slices. Place one prepared bread slice on another and cover with 1 toasted bread slice with mayonnaise side down to make a double-decker sandwich. Similarly, prepare with remaining sandwiches.
13. Cut the double-decker sandwiches into triangles.
14. Place the sandwiches on one side of a serving platter. Place the salad on the other side and pour some dressing on top.
15. Remove air-fryer basket from the air-fryer, sprinkle some spice mix on top of the air-fried potato wedges and shake well.
16. Place the prepared potato wedges on the prepared platter and serve immediately.
