Turkey Rara | Restaurant style turkey | Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi | chefharpalsingh

Rara Turkey is a juicy Indian style turkey recipe. This chicken gravy tastes best when paired with parotha or rice.

Turkey Rara
Ingredients Quantity
Turkey fillet minced 1 bowl
Turkey breast cubes 500gms
Oil 5-6tbsp
Bay leaf 2no.
Cinnamon 1no.
Cloves 5-6no.
Green cardamom 4-5no.
Black cardamom 1no.
Cumin seeds 1tsp
Onions chopped 3no.
Garlic chopped 2tbsp
Ginger chopped 2tbsp
Tomatoes chopped 4no.
Salt to taste
Red chili powder 2 ½ tsp
Coriander powder 2tbsp
Turmeric powder ½ tsp
Garam masala 1tsp+ 1tsp
Crushed black pepper ½ tsp
Green chilies 2-3 no.
Water 1cup+ as required
Yoghurt ½ cup
Coriander 2tbsp
Lemon juice ½ tsp.


Method –
1. First take the turkey fillet and mince it properly.
2. Now take the turkey breast and cut it into cubes and keep aside.
3. Now in pan add oil, bay leaf, cinnamon stick, cloves, green cardamom, black cardamom, cumin seeds, chopped onions and sauté till brown in colour for 5-6 mins.
4. Now add chopped garlic, chopped ginger and sauté again.
5. Now add chopped tomatoes, salt to taste and mix it properly and let tomatoes cook.
6. Now add red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, crushed black pepper, green chilies chopped and sauté again.
7. Now add water and cook for 2-3 mins
8. Now add turkey minced in it and cook it properly.
9. Add water to adjust the consistency.
10. Now add yoghurt and mix it properly.
11. Now add turkey breast and mix it properly, cook for at least 15mins.
12. Now add chopped coriander, lemon juice, garam masala and mix it properly.
13. Serve hot with paratha.
