Sesame toast is one of the popular snacks in Chinese cuisine in which chopped vegetables are used as a topping on bread and spread batter and pan-fried. You can cut into different shapes like strips or quarterly and served with ketchup or any home based dip. It is a perfect snack for kid’s party or when they get back from school. Vegetable Sesame Toast
Ingredients Quantity Frozen corn ¼ cup
Oil 1 tbsp
Ginger chopped 1 tsp
Garlic chopped 1tsp
Green chilies chopped 3-4no.
Onion chopped 1small no.
French beans chopped 3-4no.
Grated carrot 1 small no.
Red chili sauce 2 tbsp
Tomato sauce 1 tbsp
Soya sauce 1tsp
Vinegar 1tsp
Boiled mashed potatoes 2 no.
Salt to taste
Chaat masala 1 tsp
Black salt ½ tsp
Hing ½ tsp
Black pepper 1 tsp
Corn starch 3-4 tbsp
Water as required
Bread slices 5-6 no.
White Sesame seeds ½ cup
Method:-
1. First crush the frozen corns in the mixture blender.
2. Now take a pan add oil, ginger chopped, garlic chopped, green chilies chopped and sauté it for a min, now add onion chopped, French beans chopped, carrot grated and sauté it properly.
3. Now add the crushed corn in it and sauté it.
4. Now add red chili sauce, tomato sauce, soya sauce, vinegar and mix it properly and let it cook for some time.
5. Now remove the mixture in the bowl and add boiled potatoes and mash it properly.
6. Now add salt, chaat masala, black salt, Hing, and black pepper, mix it properly.
7. Now in a bowl add corn starch and water and make slurry out of it.
8. Now take bread slices, remove sesame seeds in a plate.
9. Now apply the cornstarch slurry on the bread on one side and apply the vegetable mixture on it.
10. Now again apply the cornstarch slurry on mixture and dip the bread in the plate of white sesame.
11. Remove it carefully from the plate and press the edges from all the sides.
12. Before frying freeze the toast for 10 to 15 mins so it becomes firm while frying.
13. Now keep the oil for frying.
14. Before frying again press the edges and fry on low to medium heat.
15. Now put the sesame toast for frying, the sesame applied part should be down side.
16. Fry till the bread becomes crispy.
17. Now increase the temperature of oil and fry the other one in same way.
18. Our sesame toast are cooked properly it’s ready to serve.
19. Cut the toast into triangle shape.
20. Serve hot with tomato ketchup
