WHEN DO YOU KNOW THAT THE GUT ACTUALLY HEALED?!

The gut isnt healed when we eliminate fiber and variety. Its healed when we are able to digest fiber and variety.

I was listening to a podcast on Rich Roll last night from one of my fave gut docs Dr. Bulsiewicz and he said something profound that I agree with and have thought about for a while now. He said not everything that feels good is good for us

He was referring to people who eliminate or greatly reduce fiber (carnivore/juice feast, etc) and suddenly feel better so they assume the fiber was the problem. But just because it feels better, doesnt mean its ideal because as soon as they add higher fiber back, their symptoms return, many times worse than before because the gut starts to atrophy with the low to no fiber intake. This is problematic because they claim its healing but in reality, long term, its an illusion.

He says that a truly healed gut is able to digest all of the fiber variety that one could eat. Its like the low carb thing for diabetes. Its not the absence of sugar that make one healed, its the ability to eat and use sugar properly thats the sign of balance.

He was asked how do you know your gut is healed and he replied when you can digest all the fiber. That means eating it. Gut growth can be uncomfortable by its akin to physio therapy after an accident or coma. Or building muscle. It causes soreness. It takes time. Its challenging. We dont say the gym made my muscles sore so Im never going to the gym again so why are we not challenging our guts?! Food for thought! P.S. this new Pineapple un-fried rice recipe is COMING SOON.
