I won a Streamy guys!!!! #streamys

I wanted to write an honest post about how I felt last night, when @streamys and @blogilates honored me with a Creator Honors Award. Obviously, I was THRILLED and EXCITED! Its always incredibly fulfilling to have my work recognized by an industry of my peers. But, the minute Cassey handed me that frozen rose-gold statuette, I was already starting to worry about the award ceremony--a room filled with people who I knew would rouse my imposter syndrome, however hard I tried to squash it.

As I mentioned to Cassey and Jess @SulheeJessica earlier today, I find it challenging to trust women, particularly other Asian women. I was raised to view them as competition, not friends, based on the premise that there arent enough statuettes for all of us. Which is what makes this honor from Cassey so especially powerful.

Thank you thank you thank @streamys for such a surreal and magical evening! Thank you also to the team at Underscore who cheered so loudly for me last night! Thank you to @maitai_06 for glamming me up and making me look like a Streamy winner!

My inexpressible gratitude to Cassey for her continued brilliance and heart, as well as to Sam, whose kindness always makes me feel safe and welcome. And of course, thank you to my partner in crime, @music.and.movement, for being the staunchest, most vocal, most resolute knight in armoralways ready to throw it down with my Imposter Syndrome, even if its the 17th time in one hour.
