In addition, School Gardens provide a central location for students and community members to practice with new tools, or partake in advanced agricultural techniques and training. Community committees, groups or student clubs are responsible for maintaining and caring for the Gardens. Depending on the community, and the country, community members can grow a variety of nutritious foods and / or herbs, which include fruits, vegetables, herbs, spices, and flowers for beautification. School Garden produce supplement the school nutrition program while the profits from harvest sales go directly to the school.

2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
¾ cup milk
seeds from half a vanilla bean

Vanilla Bean Buttercream

1 cup butter (room temperature)
3 cups powdered sugar
2 tbsp heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
seeds from half a vanilla bean

Strawberry Dream Cupcakes

1½ cups cake flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
½ cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 eggs
½ cup strawberry puree
½ cup milk
½ cup strawberries, finely diced

Strawberry Buttercream

1 cup butter, room temperature
3 cups powdered sugar
2 tbsp heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla
¼ cup strawberry puree
4-6 drops red food colouring (optional)

Double Chocolate Cupcakes

½ cup dark chocolate cocoa powder
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract

⅔ cup milk

Double Chocolate Buttercream

8oz chocolate, chopped (dark or semi-sweet)
2 tbsp dark cocoa powder
1 cup butter, room temperature
3 cups powdered sugar
2 tbsp heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
