MURGH SHALGAM KI SABZI

Ingredients

1 boneless chicken breast
2-3 medium turnips, peeled
3 tbsps oil
½ tsp cumin seeds
5-6 cloves
2 medium onions, chopped
3 inch ginger piece + thin strips of 1 inch ginger piece
Salt to taste
¼ tsp turmeric powder
2 tbsps coriander powder
1 tbsp red chilli powder
A few sprigs of fresh coriander leaves

Method

1. Slice turnips.
2. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds, cloves and onions and saute.
3. Thickly grate ginger and add and saute till fragrant.
4. Add turnips and salt and mix. And turmeric powder and ¼ cup water and mix. Cover and cook.
5. Put coriander powder and red chilli powder in a bowl, add ½ cup water, mix and add to the pan. Mix well, cover and cook.
6. Cut chicken into medium cubes and add to the pan. Mix, cover and cook on low heat till both turnips and chicken are cooked.
7. Chop coriander leaves and add. Mix well.
8. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with thin strips of ginger and serve hot with rice.
