American-Style BBQ Pulled Pork
Pulled pork is an American barbeque dish, slow cooked and flavourful. I am delighted that Larry, from Buffalo, USA, and an expert in smoking, barbeque and grilling, has shared this recipe for us. This method of cooking is not really practiced in India and I thought of sharing this for you to be adventurous and try it out. It takes about 2 days to cook this preparation and believe me, it is worth the wait. Main Ingredient
8 pounds Boston Butt Cut Pork
Ingredients for the brine
cup Bourbon
Tbs Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbs vanilla extract
cup kosher salt
cup molasses
8 cups water
Ingredients for the rub
cup brown sugar
cup granulated garlic
cup paprika
cup salt
cup onion powder
cup chilli powder
1 Tbs black pepper
1 tea spoon each of cumin & cayenne powder
Mustard
Method Step 1
Mix all the ingredients under brine
Cross cut the meat and put into the brine for 12 to 16 hours
Step 2
Take all the ingredients of the rub in a bowl and mix well and keep aside
Step 3
Cut the meat into 4 pieces
Pat dry with kitchen towels
Rub the meat with rub mix and mustard
Smoke the meat for 80 to 90 minutes @250 degrees
Spray apple juice on the smoked meat
Wrap the meat in Peach paper & smoke again
Resting is very important after smoking is over
Lets make sliders with the cooked Pulled Pork with Hawaiian sweet rolls
Put cooked meat inside the roll
Add a little barbeque sauce
Put a pickle on top and the slider or the burger is ready
