Add this sweet and sour twist to your regular kadhi and you will definitely fall in love with this dish.AMLA KADHIIngredients1-2 Indian gooseberries (amla), roughly chopped5-6 garlic cloves2 tsps cumin seeds2 tsps coriander seeds2 dried red chillies½ cup scraped fresh coconut2 tbsps ghee3-4 cloves2 inch cinnamon stick, broken¼ tsp fenugreek seeds (methi dana)1 large onion, thinly sliced1½ tsps Tata Sampann Chilli Powder¼ tsp turmeric powder½ tsp coriander powder¾ tsp cumin powderSalt to taste 1½ cups buttermilk Fresh coriander sprig for garnish Steamed rice to serveMethod1. Dry roast garlic cloves, cumin seeds, coriander seeds and dried red chillies in a non-stick pan till fragrant. Transfer into a blender jar, add coconut, Indian gooseberries and ½ cup water and blend to a fine powder. 2. Heat ghee in a non-stick deep pan, add cloves, cinnamon stick and fenugreek seeds and sauté till fragrant.3. Add onion and mix and sauté till translucent. Add the blended paste, and sauté for 1-2 minutes. 4. Add 1 cup water, mix, add Tata Sampann Chilli Powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and salt and mix. Cook for a minute, cover and cook for 3-4 minutes or till the oil separates.5. Add buttermilk, mix and let it come to a boil, simmer for 2-3 minutes.
