Amti | Indian Mom's Kitchen

Amti is a very popular Maharashtrian Dal Curry. In this video is explained step by step instructions on how to make Amti at home very easily. Given below is the Amti recipe with ingredients and the method to follow.

Ingredients:
1 cup Tuvar Dal
1/4 tsp Turmeric
1/4 tsp Hing
Salt
2 tbsp Oil
1 tsp Cumin
1 tsp Mustard
1 tsp Red Chilli powder
1 tsp Garlic paste
1 tbsp Goda masala
1/2 tsp Hing
3 chopped Green Chillies
1 chopped Tomato
4-5 Kokam
1 tsp Jaggery
Chopped Coriander leaves
Few Curry leaves
Salt to taste

Method:
-- Soak Tuvar Dal for 1/2 hour.
-- Pressure cook Dal with Water, Salt, 1/4 tsp Turmeric and 1/4 tsp Hing.
-- Mash the Dal and add 1 cup water.
-- Heat Oil in a pan and put Mustard seeds, Cumin, Garlic, Curry leaves, Hing and Green Chillies and saute.
-- Next add Dal and let it simmer.
-- Add chopped Tomatoes and simmer.
-- Add Coriander leaves and simmer.
-- Finally add Goda masala, Red Chilli powder, Kokam, Jaggery and simmer for 5 minutes.
-- Amti is ready to serve piping hot.
