Banana Tikki In Gujarati | Snacky Ideas by Amisha Doshi | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Crunchy outside and soft and flavourful inside - these raw banana tikkis are a must try.

BANANA TIKKI

Ingredients

2 medium raw bananas, boiled, peeled and mashed
Oil for deep-frying
1 teaspoon crushed green chillies
1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
½ teaspoon garam masala powder
½ teaspoon cumin powder
Salt to taste
½ teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2-3 tablespoons fried raw bananas + for topping
1 tablespoon cornflour
¼ cup refined flour (maida) slurry
½ cup oats

Method

1. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
2. Mix together mashed raw bananas, green chillies, coriander leaves, chilli powder, garam masala powder, cumin powder and salt in a bowl. Add sugar, lemon juice, 2-3 tablespoons fried raw bananas and cornflour mix well.
3. Divide the banana mixture into small equal portions and shape into tikkis.
4. Spread oats on a plate.
5. Dip each tikki in slurry and coat with oats.
6. Put the tikkis in hot oil and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
7. Top with some fried raw bananas and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
