Basic Gobhi Matar recipe (Cauliflower Peas Indian Recipe) | Eat East Indian

One of the basic Indian vegetarian dishes Gobhi Matar (Spiced cauliflower with peas) is simple to make. It's easy and quick side dish with roti, parantha, naan or rice.

Ingredients:
2 heads of Cauliflower
1/2 cup peas
1 small onion
2 tbsp oil for cooking
1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
2 tbsp lemon juice
Salt per taste
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 Green chilli
Cilantro for garnish
1/2 tsp garam masala

Method:
1. Chop Cauliflower head into bite size pieces.
2. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
3. Add Green chilli, onions and ginger garlic paste.
4. Mix well and add spices. Saute for 2 mins.
5. Add peas. Mix well. Add Cauliflower and stir well.
6. Add 1/2 cup water. Cover and cook for 7-8 mins.
7. Once gobhi is tender, add garam masala and lemon juice. Garnish with cilantro leaves and serve.
