Crispy batter fried think cut potato is a perfect recipe for when it's pouring outside!BATATA BHAJIYAIngredients2 medium potatoes, unpeeled1 cups gram flour (besan) tsp red chilli powder tsp turmeric powder tsp carom seeds (ajwain)Salt to tasteOil for deep fryingDate and tamarind chutney to serveGreen chutney to serveChaat masala to sprinkleMethod1. Take gram flour in a large bowl, add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, carom seeds, salt and sufficient water. Whisk to form a semi-thick batter of coating consistency. Add a pinch of baking soda and mix well.2. Slice the potatoes using a slicer directly into the batter.3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai, coat each slice of the potatoes with the batter and drop into the hot oil. Deep fry till golden and crisp. Drain on an absorbent paper.4. Transfer on to a serving plate and sprinkle chaat masala on top.
