Hayagreeva is a traditional desert made in most Madhwa temples,http://www.vahrehvah.com/bengal-gram-sweet-hyagreeva-sweetIngredients:Chana dal (split yellow lentils) 1 1/2 CupMilk 1 CupJaggery 1 CupPoppy seeds 1 TablespoonsPoppy seeds 1 TablespoonsCoconut (grated coconut) 1 CupGhee 2 TablespoonsCahew nuts 10 GramsAlmond 10 GramsRaisins 10 GramsCardamom powder 1/4 Teaspoons Directions:1. Wash the Chana dal and add and add enough water to the dal so it is just covered. Leave to soak two to three hours. 2. Boil the water in a pan and add the soaked Chana dal to boil it till it is soft. 3. Then add milk, jaggery and cook for 5 minutes in a slow flame. 4. IN another pan add the poppy seeds and dry roast it. 5. Add roasted poppy seeds in to the Chana dal and when it comes to boil then add fresh grated coconut mix well. 6. Heat the ghee in a pan and fry the cashew nuts Almond slices and raisins. 7. when raisins puff up then add the Chana dal mixture into this. 8. Add cardamom powder mix well. 9.
