Braided Chutney Bread | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Braided Chutney Bread is a great accompaniment to your main course and is delicious in every aspect !

BRAIDED CHUTNEY BREAD

Ingredients

1 cup refined flour (maida)
½ cup green chutney
2 teaspoons fresh yeast
½ teaspoon castor sugar
½ cup lukewarm milk
½ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon oil
50 grams mozzarella cheese

Method

1. Mix together yeast, castor sugar and milk in a large bowl and set aside to activate.
2. Add flour and salt and knead into a soft dough. Add oil and knead again. Cover with damp muslin cloth and set aside to prove for 1 hour.
3. Preheat oven to 180° C.
4. Place the dough on the worktop and knock back to release excess air.
5. Roll out the dough into a thick sheet, spread the chutney in the center and grate cheese on top. Apply some water on the edges and roll into a log.
6. Place the log on a baking tray, halve lengthwise and turn them upside down. Cross and press the halves from one side and place the halves on each other alternatively to make a braid and press the end to seal.
7. Place the tray into the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes. Remove from oven.
8. Serve.
