BRAISED DAKSHIN STYLE CHICKEN Ingredients4 boneless chicken breasts with wingletSalt to tasteCrushed black peppercorns to taste1 tablespoon lemon juice2 tablespoons ginger-garlic-green chilli paste½ teaspoon turmeric powder2 teaspoons red chilli powder 1 teaspoon chopped curry leaves 2 teaspoons rice flour2 tablespoons coconut oil½ teaspoon mustard seeds 3-4 dried red chillies, broken6-7 curry leaves ½ teaspoon asafoetida 2 medium onions, slicedMethod1. Take chicken breasts on a plate. Add salt, crushed peppercorns and lemon juice, mix well and set aside.2. Mix together the 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic-green chilli paste, turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon chilli powder and curry leaves in a bowl. Add rice flour and mix. Add the chicken breasts and rub well. Set aside for 10-15 minutes to marinate. 3. Heat coconut oil in a non-stick pan. Add the marinated chicken and cook for 2 minutes on each side. Remove from pan and set aside.4. Add mustard seeds and dried red chillies in the same pan and sauté for 30 seconds. Add curry leaves, asafoetida and mix.5. Add remaining ginger-garlic-green chilli paste and onions, mix and sauté till onions turn translucent. 6. Add salt and remaining chilli powder, mix and sauté for 15 seconds.7. Add the chicken and top with the masala. Drizzle some water, cover and cook on low heat till fully done. 8. Serve hot.
