A very different bhaji where whole capsicum is batter coated and deep fried. Stuffed with a mix of delicious vegetables and served like a chaat.CAPSICUM BHAJIIngredients4 medium capsicums, stems intact1½ cups gram flour (besan)A pinch of baking soda¼ tsp carom seeds (ajwain)Salt to taster¼ tsp red chilli powder¼ tsp turmeric powderToppingsChopped onion as requiredChopped tomatoes as requiredChaat masala for sprinklingDry mango powder (amchur) for sprinklingChopped green chillies for sprinklingRed chilli powder for sprinklingGrated carrot as requiredSev for garnishChopped fresh coriander leaves for garnishMethod1. Take gram flour in a large bowl, add baking soda, carom seeds, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and ½ cup water and whisk to a smooth and thick batter.2. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai, dip each capsicum in the batter and slide into the hot oil and deep fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper. 3. To serve, cut the fried capsicum in to wedges and transfer on to a serving plate. 4. Sprinkle onion, tomato, chaat masala, amchur, green chillies, red chilli powder and carrot.
