Chana Dal Chaat

Outsmart sudden hunger pangs with this easy and quick but fabulously tasty snack! All you need to do is toss together Masala Chana Dal with a couple of common, readily-available ingredients like tomatoes and onions, not to forget a garnish of crunchy sev, and your Chana Dal Chaat is ready to munch on. Not only is this quick snack handy when you feel suddenly hungry, it is also a great recipe to surprise your friends with, when they pop in for a chat in the afternoon. Couple it with a cup of tea , and the environment is just right for a get-together.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes.
Cooking Time: Nil.
Makes 1½ cups.

1 cup masala chana dal (split Bengal gram)
¼ cup finely chopped onions
¼ cup finely chopped tomatoes
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
1 tsp lemon juice
½ tsp finely chopped green chillies
½ tsp chaat masala

For the garnish
1 tbsp sev

1. Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl and mix well.
2. Serve immediately garnished with sev.
