Chana Dal Vada, Smokey Coconut Chutney
Prep time - 20 mins
Cooking time - 20 mins
Serves - 525 gms/16 nos

INGREDIENTS -

For Dal Vada:
Chana dal ( ) - 1 cup
Curry leaves ( ) - 2 sprigs
Saunf () - 2 tsp
Pepper whole () - 2 tsp
Cumin () - 2 tsp
Ginger chopped ()- 1 tbsp
Green chilli chopped ( ) - 2-3 nos
Coriander chopped ( ) - 3 tbsp
Onion chopped () - cup
Salt () - to taste
Curry leaves ( ) - a sprig
Oil () - for frying

For Smokey Coconut Chutney:
Capsicum, large ( ) - 1 no
Oil ()- a dash
Green chilli () - 3-4 nos
Grated coconut ()- 1 cups
Coriander leaves ( ) - 1 cup
Mint leaves ()- cup
Curry leaf ( ) handful
Tamarind (optional) () - a small piece
Ginger () - a small piece
Salt () - to taste
Roasted Chana dal ( )- 2 tbsp
Water () - a dash

For Tempering:
Oil () - 2 tbsp
Dry Red chilli ( ) - 2-3 nos
Mustard seeds() - 2 tsp
Urad Dal ( ) - 2 tsp
Curry Leaves ( ) - a sprig
