Chana Masala Recipe in Tamil / Channa Masala Gravy in Tamil / சென்னா மசாலா / Chapati Side Dish

Channa - 200 gms / Approx. 1 cup (Soaked for min. 6 to 8 hours and pressure cooked for about 5 whistles in medium flame)

Onions - 3
Tomatoes - 2
Red chillies (soaked) - 3 or 4 based on length and level of spiciness of chilli
Kashmiri Chilli (optional) - 1 for enhancing food color
Green chilly - 1 big or 2 small
Ginger - 2 inches
Garlic cloves - 5 nos
Chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 3/4 tsp
Cumin seeds powder - 1/4 tsp
Garam masala powder - 1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/8 tsp
Lemon juice - 5 to 6 drops (or) Amhcur powder - 1/4 tsp
Kasuri methi - 1/2 tsp
Butter - 2tbsp + 1tbsp
Salt - as required
Coriander leaves - for garnishing

Bay leaf - 1
Cardamom - 2
Cloves - 2
Cinnamon stick - 1"
Cummin seeds - 1/2 tsp
