Cheeni Parantha is the perfect option when you are looking for a quick but a wholesome recipe.

CHEENI PARANTHA

Ingredients

¾ cup sugar
½ tsp green cardamom powder
A pinch of nutmeg powder
A pinch of saffron
A pinch of salt
Ready-made dough made using 1½ cups whole wheat flour
4 tbsps white butter + to serve
Whole wheat flour for dusting
Ghee for applying

Method

1. In a large bowl, add sugar, green cardamom powder, nutmeg powder, crush and add saffron. Mix well. Add a pinch of salt, mix and set aside.
2. Take a portion of the dough and roll it into a small disc, apply a little white and sprinkle a generous portion of the prepared sugar mixture and bring the edges in the middle and seal. Slightly flatten.
3. Dust the worktop with a little flour and roll the prepared dough into a parantha.
4. Heat a non-stick tawa, place the parantha on it and cook on both sides till done. Apply ghee on each and cook till golden brown. Take it off the heat.
5. Serve hot with white butter.
