Cheesy Penne Pasta | Gayathiri's Cookbook

This is a perfect, versatile pasta sauce for all types of pasta. White Pasta is also extremely simple to make and takes only 15-17 minutes. Prepare white sauce, stir-fry the veggies, boil the pasta, and mix them all.

Ingredients:
Penne pasta- 2 cups
Salt- 1 teaspoon
Oil- 2 teaspoons
Butter- 4 tablespoons
Onion-1
Broccoli-1 cup
Red bell pepper- 0.5 cup
Green bell pepper- 0.5 cup
Garlic cloves- 3
All purpose flour/Maida- 2 tablespoons
Cream or Half and half or milk- 2 cups
Mozzarella sauce- 2 cups
Pepper powder- 1 teaspoon
Oregano- 1 teaspoon
Parsley- For garnishing
Red chilly flakes- 1 teaspoon

Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 25 minutes
Servings: 4

Directions:
1. Boil water with 1 teaspoon of salt.Add 2 cups of pasta to the boiling water.
2. Cook until al dente.Drizzle some oil and strain the pasta.
3. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter.Add and cook onion until translucent.Add broccoli and the bell peppers. Sprinkle some salt.Saute the vegetables for about 2-3 minutes. Keep it aside.
4. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a pan.Add garlic cloves and fry for a minute. Then add the flour. Stir until the butter and the flour are well combined.
5. Add cream or half and half . Use milk for lighter version.Whisk the milk.
6. Boil until the milk is thickened.Then add the mozzarella cheese and stir continuously until cheese is melted.
7. Add salt, pepper powder and oregano. Mix it well.
8. Stir in the cooked pasta.Garnish with parsley and red chilly flakes.


Creamy penne pasta is ready!!
