Chicken Lollipop Recipe in Tamil / How to Make Chicken Lollipops / சிக்கன் லாலிபாப்

Chicken (Excluding Tips) = 600 gms

For the marinade:

Lollipop shaped chicken pieces
Pepper powder - 1 tsp
Chilly powder - 2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - a pinch
Salt - As required

For the batter:
All purpose flour / Maida - 4 tbsp
Corn flour - 2 tbsp
Chilly powder - 3 tsp
Pepper Powder - 2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Egg - 1 (optional) - Make sure this does not make your batter more liquid

Salt - As required

For the final preparation:
Oil - 3 tsp
Ginger - 1" finely chopped
Garlic - 2 nos finely chopped
Onions - 1/4 of a medium sized onion - finely chopped
Tomato sauce - 1 tbsp
Chilly Sauce - 2 tbsp

Spring Onions - Green part (a little for garnishing)
Salt is not required in this as the sauces have salt in them.

Method:

1. Make the lollipops as you see in the video - the middle part and the drumette can be used.
2. Marinate them in Pepper powder, Chilly powder, Turmeric Powder and Salt as required for about 15 min.
3. Prepare the batter.
4. Dip the florets in batter so that the lollipops are fully coated and deep fry them.
5. Make sure you do not overcrowd and turn over when each side is cooked for a few min.
6. Once fried, let's start preparing the final sauce coat.
7. Heat oil in a pan and add finely chopped ginger, garlic and little chopped onions and fry until they onions become a little translucent.
8. Now, add in the sauces, mix them well.
9. Add in the deep fried lollipops and toss them in slow flame so that it forms an even coat on the lollipops.
10. Turn off the flame, sprinkle green part of spring onions and serve hot.
