Chicken Tikka Puff Cups | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Pastry dough shaped into cups and baked. Topped with spicy chicken tikka mixture. A must try recipe !

CHICKEN TIKKA PUFF CUPS

Ingredients

250 grams readymade chicken tikka, cut into small pieces
400 grams puff pastry dough
Refined flour for dusting
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon refined flour
½ teaspoon red chilli powder
¼ cup fresh cream
½ teaspoon chaat masala
1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves + for garnishing

Method

1. Preheat oven at 180° C.
2. Dust the worktop with some flour. Place the dough on it and roll out into 1 inch thick sheet.
3. Using a large size serrated cookie cutter, cut out 8 roundels from it. Using a smaller size serrated cookie cutter, cut out hollow rings from 4 of the roundels.
4. Place the 4 solid roundels on a baking tray. Apply water on the edges and place the 4 hollow rings on them, press to seal.
5. Brush with beaten egg, put the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.
6. Heat butter in a non-stick pan. Add garlic and onion, mix and sauté till the onion turns translucent.
7. Add flour, mix and sauté. Add chilli powder and mix well. Add cream and mix. Add little water, mix and cook for 30 seconds.
8. Add chicken tikka and mix well. Add some more water to adjust the consistency. Cook for a minute.
9. Add chaat masala and coriander leaves, mix well. Remove from heat and set aside.
10. Press the insides of the baked puff with a spoon and fill them with the prepared chicken mixture. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve immediately.
