Chinese Style Fish Fingers | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Fish fingers marinated with Chinese sauces and crumb fried.

CHINESE STYLE FISH FINGERS - (Serves - 4)

Ingredients

2 basa fish fillets, cut into fingers
Oil for deep-frying
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
1-2 fresh red chillies, finely chopped
Crushed black peppercorns to taste
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon soy sauce
2-3 teaspoons oyster sauce + for drizzling
6-8 fresh basil leaves
Fresh breadcrumbs for coating
1 egg
Chopped spring onion greens for garnishing

Method

1. Heat sufficient oil in a pan.
2. Take fish fingers in a bowl. Add garlic, red chillies, crushed peppercorns, salt, soy sauce and oyster sauce and mix. Add torn basil leaves and mix well.
3. Coat marinated fish fingers with breadcrumbs.
4. Beat an egg in a shallow plate and dip coated fingers and again coat with breadcrumbs.
5. Deep-fry prepared fingers in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
6. Place fried fingers on a serving platter, drizzle some oyster sauce on top and garnish with spring onion greens.
7. Serve hot.
