Chocolate Flower Pot | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Cups made out of chocolate stuffed with chocolate mousse and crushed chocolate cookie mixture.

CHOCOLATE FLOWER POT

Ingredients

50 grams milk chocolate
2 egg yolks
3 tablespoons castor sugar
50 grams dark chocolate
Few drops of vanilla essence
½ cup fresh cream
1 cup whipped cream
10-12 chocolate cookies
½ tablespoon melted butter
1 teaspoon popping candy
4-6 mint sprigs

Method

1. Heat chocolate in a microwave for a minute. Remove from heat, mix and cool.
2. Make small cuts on 2 opposite ends of small plastic glasses and fill in each glass with melted chocolate and set aside for 30 seconds. Remove the chocolate from the filled glasses. Refrigerate for 5-10 minutes or till set.
3. Take egg yolks in a bowl, place it on double boiler, add castor sugar, whisk well and cook for a minute or till sugar melts.
4. Roughly chop dark chocolate.
5. Add vanilla essence to egg yolk mixture, whisk and cook till it thickens. Add chopped chocolate and whisk till chocolate melts. Add cream and mix well. Remove from heat and cool.
6. Add ⅓ of the whipped cream and fold gently. Add remaining whipped cream and fold well.
7. Fill a piping bag with mousse and pipe out ¾ into each chocolate glass. Refrigerate for 30 minutes or till set.
8. Place chocolate cookies in a zip-lock bag and crush with a rolling pin. Transfer in a bowl and add butter and mix well. Add popping candy and mix again.
9. Remove chocolate glasses from refrigerator, layer the mousse with some crumbled biscuit-candy mixture.
10. Demould and place them on a serving plate. Put in a mint sprig into each chocolate pot and serve.

Cooking Time: 8-10 minutes
