Coconut Burfi recipe in Tamil
This recipe is very famous and very easy to make during festivals especially when Diwali is very near. Coconut Burfi is a delicious South Indian sweet recipe made with grated coconut, sugar and milk. It is one of the most commonly made sweet during festivals especially in South India.

Coconut Burfi is also known as thengai mittai or thengai Burfi.
Coconut Burfi is very famous in South India especially in Tamilnadu.
Coconut Burfi recipe does not take Much of your time. It hardly takes around 10-15 minutes only.

Following are few tips
Coconuts: fresh or frozen coconut taste’s best in Barfi as it is more favorable.
Process the coconut: If you are preparing Coconut Burfi recipe in a large scale then process it in a food processor or blender until slightly fine.

Preparation:

To start with grease a rectangular pan with ghee.

Following are the ingredients to make tasty, yummy and delicious recipe.
1 Big Bowl of grated coconut/ 3 small coconut grated
1 Big Bowl of sugar( sugar must be measured in the same Cup as that of grated coconut )
50 nos cashews
50 grams of ghee
Now let's see how to make the simple coconut burfi recipe
step 1: Taken empty pan and add ghee to it. Now pour little ghee into it.
step 2: Add the cashews and roast till it becomes golden. Now set the cashews aside.
step 3: Now add all the remaining ghee and put the grated coconut into it.
step 4: Mix the grated coconut and ghee and stir it for a while and then keep it aside.
step 5: Now take the empty pan and add sugar to it. Pour in little water till the sugar sinks.
step 6: Add milk into it which is optional. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely. This has to be continued until the sugar syrup comes into a string consistency. Once this is done add the grated coconut and keep on stirring it for a while.
step 7: Add the cashews and stir for a while we are done
step 8: Now take a plate with the greased Ghee and add the prepared mixture.
step 9: Leave this for about an hour, then cut into small pieces as required.
