All the delicious chatpata ingredients of a chaat filled inside crisp homemade puri cones - it is easier to prepare than it looks. CONE CHAAT - (Serves - 4)Ingredients1½ cups refined flour (maida) + for dusting A pinch turmeric powder½ teaspoon red chilli powderSalt to taste1 teaspoon carom seeds (ajwain)1 tablespoon oil + for deep-fryingChaat ¾ cup green gram (moong), boiled1 medium cucumber, peeled and finely chopped1 medium tomato, finely chopped½ medium raw mango, seeded and chopped½ cup salted boondi4-5 crisp puris, crushed2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves¾ teaspoon chaat masala ½ teaspoon red chilli powder 1½ tablespoons green chutney1½ tablespoons date-tamarind chutneyMethod1. Mix together flour, turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt, carom seeds and 1 tablespoon oil in a bowl. Add water as required and knead into a semi-stiff dough. 2. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. 3. Divide the dough into large equal portions and roll out into a thin rectangle on a dusted worktop. Prick all over with a fork and cut into thin strips. 4. Roll the strips covering kulfi moulds entirely and press at the end, to make cones. 5. Deep-fry the cones in medium hot oil till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper and carefully remove the moulds. 6. To make chaat, mix together green gram, cucumber, tomatoes, raw mango, boondi, crushed puris, coriander leaves, chaat masala, chilli powder, green chutney and date-tamarind chutney in another bowl. 7. Stuff the fried cones with the prepared chaat and serve immediately.
