Cook until soft and golden. About 10 minutes.Add the garlic and warm through until fragrant.Rinse the lentils and soak in cool water while the onions are cooking. Drain and add to the pot along with the tomatoes, salt, pepper, crushed red pepper flakes, and broth.Bring to a boil and reduce the heat to low.
