Ingredients for white sauce:
Butter 1 tbsp
Onion (chopped) 2 tbsp
Flour 2 tbsp
Milk 1 ½ cup
Chicken Stock 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
White Pepper powder 1 tsp
Mix Herbs 1 tsp
Garlic Powder 1 tsp
Black Pepper powder 1/2 tsp
Yellow Bell Pepper (chopped) 1/4 cup
Red Bell Pepper (chopped) 1/4 cup
Ingredients for filling:
Chicken (boiled & shredded) 2 cups
Spring Onion (chopped) 1/2 cup
Soy Sauce 1 tbsp
Red Chili Powder 1 tsp
Mustard Paste 1 tsp
White Sauce Mixture 1 cup
Assembling:
Samosa patti as required
Milk as required
Mozzarella cheese (grated) as required
Eggs (beaten) 2
Bread crumbs as required
Directions:
1. In a pan melt butter, add onion and sauté it for 2 minutes. Now add flour and mix it very well.
2. Gradually add milk, then chicken stock and keep stirring continuously until thickens. Keep the flame low while making the sauce.
3. Add salt, white pepper powder, mix herbs, garlic powder, black pepper powder and mix it all well.
4. Lastly add yellow capsicum & red capsicum and mix. Your white sauce is ready. Let it cool down.
5. Note: you can skip yellow, red capsicum and use green capsicum as well. Don’t cook much after adding capsicum so they stay crunchy.
6. In a bowl add chicken, spring onion, soy sauce, red chili powder, mustard paste, white sauce mixture and mix everything well. Your box patties filling is ready.
7. Take one samosa patti, brush milk in center, place another samosa patti on it and make a plus sign.
8. First add prepared filling in center, then mozzarella cheese and lastly some more filling again.
9. Now brush the sides with milk and seal your patties by lapping on side on other to make a box shape. Seal all the corners nicely.
10. Lastly dip your box patties firstly in eggs and then coat them in bread crumbs.
11. Note: these box patties can be frozen in a zip lock bag up to 1 month.
12. For cooking heat oil in a pan and deep fry these box patties on medium flame until light golden brown from both sides.
13. Serve delicious box patties with ketchup or chili garlic sauce and enjoy your iftar.
