Daal Chawal Recipe :

Ingredients for Daal Tarka:
Onion (chopped) 1 cup
Tomatoes 1 cup
Salt to taste
Red chili powder 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder 1 tbsp
Cinnamon stick 1 inch (1)
Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
Water 5 cups
Coriander powder 1 tbsp
Cumin powder 1 tbsp
Oil 1/4 cup
Daal Mung (soaked) 2 cups
Daal Masoor (soaked) 1 cup
Oil (for tarka)1 cup
Red whole chilies (for tarka) 10-12
Garlic cloves 2
Cumin seeds 1/2 tbsp
Bay leaf 1

Ingredients for Zeera Rice:
Soaked rice 2 cups
Water as required
Salt to taste
Cumin seeds 2 tbsp
Oil 2 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp

Ingredients for Fried Hari Mirch:
Salt 1 tsp
Red chili powder 1 tbsp
Fennel seeds 1 tbsp
Red chili flakes 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/2 tbsp
Coriander seeds 1 tbsp
Nigella seeds 1 tsp
Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
Fenugreek seeds 1/4 tsp
Lemon 3 tbsp
Achari masala 4 tbsp
Green chilies as required

Directions for Daal Tarka:
1. In a pot heat oil and add ginger garlic paste and onion, cook until translucent. Now add tomatoes, salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and cook until oil separates. Add water and bring it to boil.
2. Now add soaked daal mung and daal masoor and cover and cook on low flame until fully tender.
3. In a pan heat oil and add garlic cook until color changes. Now add red chilies, cumin seeds and cook for 1-2 minutes. Pour the prepared tarka over Daal and your Daal Tarka is ready.
Directions for Zeera Rice:
4. In a pot add water and bring it to boil. Now add salt, oil and soaked rice. Cook until 80% done and strain.
5. Now in another pan heat oil and add ginger garlic paste, cumin seeds and cook for 1-2 minutes. Now add boiled rice and give it a good mix. Cook on low flame for 4-5 minutes. Your zeera rice is ready.
Directions for Fried Hari Mirch:
6. To prepare achari masala, In a grinder add salt, red chili powder, fennel seeds, red chili flakes, mustard seeds, turmeric powder, coriander seeds, nigella seeds, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds and blend it well.
7. Now add lemon into 4 tbsp of achari masala and mix well.
8. Take green chilies and deseed them. Fill them woth prepared achari masala and fry them until changes color on low flame. your fried hari mirch is ready.

Cooking time: 45-60 mins
