Dal Makhni

Ingredients for Masala:
Desi ghee 3 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp.
Red chili powder 2 tbsp
Tomato puree 2 cups
Salt 1 tsp / to taste

Ingredients for Dal Makhni:
Water 4-5 cups
Chilke wali daal mash (soaked) 2 cups
Red kidney beans (Soaked) 1 cup
Prepared masala
NESTL MILKPAK Butter 6 tbsp
Dried fenugreek 1 tsp
Garam masala powder 1 tsp
NESTL MILKPAK Dairy Cream 1/2 cup
NESTL MILKPAK Dairy Cream (for garnishing) as required
NESTL MILKPAK Butter (for garnishing) as required

Directions for Masala Preparation:
1. In a preheated pot add desi ghee and ginger garlic paste. Cook for a few seconds.
2. Add red chili powder and mix it well. Now add tomato puree, salt and cook until oil separates. Set aside.
Directions for Dal Makhni Preparation:
3. In a pot heat water and add daal mash, red kidney beans and cook for 30-35 mins over medium-low flame for 30-35 mins. Skim off the scum.
4. Now mash it well while cooking. Add prepared masala and cook over low flame for 30 mins.
5. Add NESTL MILKPAK Butter and cook until butter melts. Add dried fenugreek, garam masala powder and cook for a min.
6. Now add NESTL MILKPAK Dairy Cream and mix it well.
7. Dish it out in a serving pot, garnish it with NESTL MILKPAK Dairy Cream, NESTL MILKPAK Butter and serve.
8. Your Dal Makhni is ready.
