Date and Walnut Spring Rolls | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

A delicious and healthy sweet treat! This nutty , chewy and soft dessert is a warm delight and a must try.

DATE AND WALNUT SPRING ROLLS

Ingredients

8-10 dates, seeded and finely chopped
6-8 walnuts, finely chopped
8spring roll sheets
Oil for deep-frying
1 tablespoon refined flour
Toasted white sesame seeds for sprinkling
Honey for drizzling

Method

1. Heat sufficient oil in a pan.
2. Combine dates and walnuts in a bowl and mix well. Set aside.
3. Dissolve flour in some water to make a thick slurry.
4. Take each spring roll sheet, take some date-walnut mixture and shape into a thin roll. Place the filling in the centre of sheet, roll and apply some slurry on the edges to seal.
5. Deep-fry each roll in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
6. Put rolls into a serving plate, sprinkle some sesame seeds, drizzle some honey on top and serve hot.

Preparation Time: 8-10 minutes
Cooking Time: 3-5 minutes
