Subscribe for more food and travel videos: https://goo.gl/9rfeRSWe're in Perlis, in northern Peninsular Malaysia and our friend Syaza and her family have invited us to attend some Malay weddings with them.We visit 3 kenduri- wedding feasts where guests visit the bride, groom and their families to congratulate them and to partake in a wedding feast! We sample traditional wedding dishes like beef rendang and ayam masak merah (chilli chicken).Getting to eat delicious food at a Malaysian wedding was a truly incredible experience. Malay weddings are unique and different to weddings where we're from in New Zealand. The ceremony often takes place on a different day to the reception. The reception or wedding feast is usually cooked by the family or is catered and guests are invited to bring their families to celebrate the union. Guests aren't expected to stay for the whole reception and when they leave are presented with bunga telur (a flower egg that represents fertility) and/or other wedding favours.What a day!
