We're making a homemade version of one of McDonald's of Korea's favorite burgers, the Deluxe Shrimp Burger.INGREDIENTS:For the spicy tartar sauce:1 hard-boiled egg, chopped2 green onions, chopped1 1/2 tablespoons pickled jalapeño, diced small1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice1 tablespoon Sriracha3 tablespoons mayonnaise2 teaspoons sugarPinch of salt & pepperFor the shrimp patties:1 pound small (51/60) shrimp, deveined, peeled and tails removed1/4 cup tempura powder1 eggPinch of salt & pepper4 cups panko breadcrumbs4 tablespoons waterFrying oilTo assemble:4 sesame bunsButterGreen lettuce or butter leaf4 slices cheddar or American cheeseSTEPS:1.) In a small bowl, combine all ingredients for tartar sauce, and set aside.2.) In a food processor, add half the shrimp and blend until it reaches a smooth and sticky paste texture. Combine this with the remaining whole shrimp, tempura powder, egg, salt and pepper. Mix until everything is well combined.3.) Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Spread panko on a large plate and mix with water.4.) Scoop half of the shrimp mixture on top of the panko and coat evenly while shaping into a patty. Transfer to the skillet, and cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and golden brown.5.) Spread butter on buns and toast until golden. On each bottom bun, add cheese, a shrimp patty, lettuce and tartar sauce. Cover with the top bun. If desired, make it double.
