A festive vegetarian sidedish cooked with pointed gourds , curd and spices. The pointed gourds are peeled partially or full , fried and cooked in a curd based sweet and sour gravy. goes with rice and dal or pulao

Ingredients

100 gm pointed gourds
1/2 cup curd
whole spices( cinnamon,cloves,cardamom, bay leaves,cumin seeds)
1 tsp asafoetida powder
1 tbsp sugar
salt to taste
1 tsp red chili powder
vegetable oil

Preparation

Heat oil in a pan
Deep fry the pointed gourds
Fry the whole spices
Add the spice powder
Add curd and simmer
Saute the fried pointed gourds
Cover cook till tender
