Zoonoses (transmission of disease or infection from animals to humans) is a reality and not a myth.Brucellosis and Tuberculosis (TB) is widespread across South Africa and poses a real risk to animals and humans. Therefor it needs our attention!The purpose of this presentation is to bring more clarity on definitions, how the diseases are contracted, symptoms and actions to be taken when tested positive. She worked in small animal practice in 2012-2013 and has been employed within the Directorate Animal Health (Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development) since 2014. She is involved in Policy development, specifically pertaining to zoonotic diseases (brucellosis, tuberculosis, rabies, BSE).
