Earth Ball - Foraging Mushrooms UK (Scleroderma Citrinum)

Through this video, we're going to take a look at the identification keys used for discovering wild Earth Ball mushrooms (Scleroderma Citrinum) This is important as it's one of the few none edible mushrooms we could potentially confused with the edible puff ball mushrooms - which are lovely edbles.

The Common Earth Ball Mushroom is found very often throughout the whole of the UK and it's something we come across on nearly every mushroom foraging walk we go on.

The key things to note are:
Thick leathery skin
Really firm / hard
Pulls up mud when picked
Typically black and marbled in the centre
