Easy Indian sweets Patisa Recipe in Hindi ( Soan Papdi Hindi) | Eat East Indian

Patisa (sometimes called Soan Papdi although minor differences exist between the two) is a popular North Indian Sweet during festivals. Boxes of Patisa (Soan Papdi , Indian Fudge) are exchanged during Holi/Diwali but there's something special about Homemade Sweets. Here's how you can make it at home.

Ingredients/ Method

1/3 cup Maida/All Purpose flour
2/3 cup Besan/ Gram Flour/ Chickpea flour
1 cup Sugar ( can be reduced as per your preference)
1/2 cup Ghee
Dry fruit for decoration (optional)

Method:
Melt Ghee in a pan and gently roast flours. This take approximately 15-20 mins. Allow mixture to cool down ( let it come to room temp)
Make a thick syrup out of 1/3 cup water and cup of sugar. Melting sugar until its reduced to half or 1/3. Add this boiling syrup into besan mixture. Spread evenly on a plate lined with plastic wrap. Add dry fruit on top. Let it cool down ( at room temp for an hour or two until it solidifies.) Then cut into pieces and serve or store for few weeks.
