Hello, Foodie! This is Angela. I was invited to Special Cooking Class 'Fish and Food story of Korea-Sweden' by Korea Food Promotion Institute. Chef Park Jong sook demonstrated 4 kinds of Korean food with fermented ingredients and Chef David Mill from Sweden shared the story about Swedish Food.

The connection of Korean food and Swedish food is FERMENTATION. Long time ago when there is no refrigerator, transportation, Curing and Fermentation was the key to save food. Kimchi, Gochujang, Doenjang : Soybean paste are one of the examples of Fermented Korean Food, and Surstrmming, Herring, Gravlax are one of that of Fermented Swedish Food.

Countries are different, but the way of eating are similar between Korea and Sweden.
