What could be a better way to kickstart a new month than with some crispiness, spices and flavour of Falafel?FALAFELIngredients1½ cups chickpeas, soaked for 8 hours and drainedOil for deep-frying8-10 garlic cloves1 medium onion, sliced2-3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley2-3 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves¼ cup fresh breadcrumbs 2-3 tablespoons white sesame seeds2 teaspoons coriander powder1 teaspoon cumin powder½ teaspoon baking sodaSalt to tasteCrushed black peppercorns to taste Tomato ketchup for servingMethod1. Heat sufficient oil in a pan.2. Coarsely grind chickpeas in an electric food processor. Add garlic cloves and grind again. Add onion, parsley, coriander leaves and 2-3 tablespoons water and grind to make a coarse mixture. Transfer in a bowl.3. Add breadcrumbs, sesame seeds, coriander powder, cumin powder, baking soda, salt and crushed peppercorns and mix well. 4. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape into tikkis.5.
