FATTA FAT CHUTNEY - CUCUMBER AND BENGAL GRAM CHUTNEY | Vahchef - VahRehVah

A crunchy chutney of cucumber with dals, and peanuts. A sour kind of chutney to be best eaten with plain rice, soothing dal and also with papad.

Ingredients:
Cucumber (yellow) 1 Numbers
Coriander seeds 1 Teaspoons
Fenugreek seeds 1/4 Teaspoons
Peanuts 1 Teaspoons
Sesame seeds 1 Teaspoons
Green chilli 5 Numbers
Tamarind 10 Grams
Chana dal soaked 1 Teaspoons
Salt To taste
Oil 1 Tablespoons
Cumin seeds 1/4 Teaspoons
Mustard seeds 1/4 Teaspoons
Red chilli 3 Numbers
Urad dal 1/4 Teaspoons
Curry leaves 2 Springs


Directions:

1. Take yellow cucumber and cut into small pieces along with seeds.

2. Heat oil in a pan add coriander seeds, roast this seeds for a minute, then add fenugreek seeds, peanuts, sesame seeds, saute it for a minute and add green chilli, tamarind, channadal, salt, cucumber pieces, fry it for 2 to 3 minutes then add coriander and saute it for a minute, switch off the flame and let it cool down then transfer it into the blender and make a coarse paste.

3. Heat oil in a pan for tempering add mustard seeds when mustard seeds splutter add cumin seeds, saute it and add soaked chana dal, red chilli, urad dal, curry leaves, saute it for a minute then switch off the flame.

4. Pour this tempering on the top of the chutney and mix it. Serve this chutney with plain rice or curd rice.
