Fish Pie | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Creamy and herby, this fish pie makes a hearty and wonderful meal for all fish lovers!

FISH PIE

Ingredients

½ cup medium prawns, shelled and deveined
½ cup squid rings
½ medium boneless fish, cut into small pieces
1 five-inch short crust pie
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon mixed dried herbs
1 medium potato, boiled, peeled and cut into pieces
Salt to taste
Grated processed cheese as required
Grated mozzarella cheese as required
White sauce
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon refined flour
¾ cup milk
Salt to taste

Method

1. Preheat oven at 180ºC.
2. To make white sauce, heat 1 tablespoon butter in a non-stick pan. Add flour, mix and cook for a minute. Add milk, whisk and cook for a minute. Add salt, mix and cook for a minute.
3. To prepare filling, heat butter in a non-stick pan. Add garlic and onion and sauté till translucent. Add mixed dried herbs and mix well.
4. Add prawns and toss on high heat to mix. Add squid rings and potato, toss to mix and cook for a minute. Add white sauce and mix well. Add fish and mix well. Add salt and some processed cheese and mix well.
5. Put the fish mixture in pie tray and level it out. Top with mozzarella and processed cheese.
6. Put the fish pie in preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes.
7. Demould and serve hot.

Preparation Time: 8-10 minutes
Cooking Time: 25-30 minutes
