Plai Thon Fisherman's market was made famous by @Mark Wiens but to me its home. Join me while I forage for ingredients on this beautiful beach after which I make an amazing authentic stir fry with southern thai curry, stink beans and fresh shrimp.

We had planned to travel home to Sichon, Thailand over New Years 21/22 but the resurgence of COVID put a stop to our travel plans - just like for so many of you. I am missing home and the beach in Sichon so I watched this video that I actually made a few years ago to dream myself away. I then realized it contained a factual error regarding the Parkia speciosa a.k.a. stink bean so I decided to re-cut and repost it. Watch it and enjoy my beautiful hometown.

Recipe: Stir Fried Southern Thai Curry with Shrimp & Stink beans (serve 4)

400-500g of peeled and deveined Shrimps (large to medium size)
1/4-1/2 cup of Coconut milk
3/4 cup of stink bean Parkia speciosa beans
1 tbsp of Red Curry paste
1/2-1 tbsp of Yellow Curry paste
1/2 tbsp Palm sugar
1/2 tbsp of Fish sauce
1 red Spur Chili
Fresh Pepper corns
6 Kaffir Lime leaves
