Gajar Ka Halwa - गाजर का हलवा | How To Make Sweet Carrot Pudding | Indian Dessert Recipe | India Food Network

A delight for sweet lovers, Gajar Ka Halwa(गाजर का हलवा) is a must-have winter dessert!! This lip-smacking divine halwa recipe is an easy-to-make dish that you can prepare for your loved ones.

Ingredients:

1 kg fresh carrot, peeled grated
200 gm sugar
1/2 lt full cream milk
4 tbsp desi (pure) ghee
10-15 cardamoms, peeled and ground
25 almonds finely shredded
Handful raisins

Method:

1. Cook the grated carrots in full cream milk on a medium flame until the milk is completely absorbed by the carrots, it should take about 20-30 minutes.
2. Once the carrots are cooked add sugar and cardamom powder and stir the mixture until the sugar starts cooking.
3. Now slowly add pure ghee to the mixture and allow the carrots to cook for about 15-20 minutes until the mixture gets a deep red colour.
4. After the mixture has cooked completely, turn off the flame and add dry fruits of your choice.
5. The halwa is now ready to be served.
