Mackerel fish pieces cooked in spicy masala gravy.GOAN MACKEREL CURRYIngredients3 mackerel fish, cut into halves½ teaspoon turmeric powderSalt to taste1 tablespoon vinegar½ inch cinnamon 1 tablespoon cumin seeds4-5 black peppercorns3-4 cloves3-4 dried red chillies1 inch ginger5-6 garlic cloves1 tablespoon oil 6-7 curry leaves1 medium onion, choppedPinch of sugarMethod1. Take fish in a bowl. Add turmeric powder and salt, mix well and set aside. 2. Grind together vinegar, cinnamon, cumin seeds, peppercorns, cloves, red chillies, ginger and garlic along with some water into a fine paste.3. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add curry leaves and onion, mix and sauté till onion turns golden.4. Add the prepared paste, mix and sauté till fragrant. Add 1 cup water, mix and bring to boil. 5. Add fish, mix lightly and cook on low heat for 5 minutes. Add sugar, mix and cook for a minute.6.
