Crisp and batter coated deep fried cauliflowers are definitely a treat for the evening.

GOBI KE PAKODE

Ingredients

250 grams cauliflower (gobi)
180 gms Tata Sampann Bonda/Pakoda Mix
Salt to taste
½ tsp red chilli powder
¼ tsp turmeric powder
¼ tsp chaat masala + for sprinkling
Oil for deep frying
Date and tamarind chutney to serve
Green chutney to serve

Method

1. Break large florets of the cauliflower and cut them in half. Transfer them into a large bowl.
2. Sprinkle salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and chaat masala and mix well and set aside for 5-10 minutes.
3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
4. To make the batter, take Tata Sampann Bonda/Pakoda Mix in another bowl, add ½ cup water little by little and whisk till a smooth batter of coating consistency is formed.
5. Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter and gently slide in a few at a time into the hot oil. Deep fry on medium heat till golden brown and crisp and drain on an absorbent paper.
6. Sprinkle chaat masala and arrange the pakode on a serving bowl. Serve hot with date and tamarind chutney and green chutney.
