GREEN BEANS WITH GARLICKY YOGURT RECIPE I So simple but amazingly delicious

In this episode, I'd like to share with you 'Green Beans With Garlicky Yogurt' recipe, from Ilgaz town/Turkey. It is very easy to make, and amazingly delicious. You can chill it and serve as a mezze. Making sure not to mix until serving, so it doesn't get watery. You can also serve it warm, as a light dinner. I'd like to thank dear Recep, for sharing this (his deceased mom's) recipe with me...

INGREDIENTS (serves 2-3)
500 gr. (1.1 pounds) green beans
1 cup thick yogurt
1 cup plain (or homemade) yogurt
One handful fresh parsley, chopped
2-3 garlic cloves
1 heaping teaspoon butter
Dried mint flakes, sweet paprika
A pinch of granulated sugar
Olive oil
Salt & pepper

DIRECTIONS
Fill a big pan with water and bring to a boil, over medium heat.
In the meantime, rinse the beans well then drain.
Remove the ends and strings.
Cut into similar sized cubes. (or cut diagonally)
When water comes to a boil, add 1 tsp salt, a pinch of sugar, black pepper and 1 garlic clove.
Add the beans and mix.
Bring back to a boil, leaving the lid slightly ajar, over medium high heat.
Then remove the lid.
Cook until desired doneness, making sure to check in every 10 minutes.
Also make sure to mix occasionally.
My beans were so fresh, so it just took me 10 minutes to cook them.
Turn off the heat, drain the beans.
Remove and discard garlic clove, then let beans sit in the colander for about 5 minutes, to drain well.
Transfer beans to a deep and large serving plate.
Season to taste.
Drizzle with 1-2 tbsp olive oil, mix gently.
Spread evenly and set aside until needed.
Transfer 1-2 garlic cloves to a bowl, cover with some hot water and set aside for a couple of minutes.
Combine thick and plain yogurts in a bowl, add a pinch of salt & pepper, beat well.
Drain garlic cloves, chop finely.
Combine with yogurt, mix.
Pour the garlicky yogurt on top of beans, as evenly as possible.
Heat 1 tsp butter and 1 tbsp olive oil in a small pan, over medium heat.
Once sizzling, add 1/2 tsp sweet paprika and 1/2 tsp dried mint flakes.
Cook for about 30 seconds, stirring constantly.
Drizzle this sauce immediately, on top of garlicky yogurt.
Last but not least, garnish with chopped parsley and enjoy.
You can serve this amazing dish warm, at room temp or chilled.
