Every recipe has a story and so does Dakor na Gota. Whenever I visit temples in India, I love trying out road side food, not hygiene at all so then I prepare at home to satisfy my crave.

When I don't feel like frying Gota, I use appe pan to shallow fry them. For the variation, I love to use variety of vegetables like corn, peas and so on but traditionally, Gota is made plain or with Fenugreek leaves(Methi) and Coriander leaves (Hara Dhaniya).

Gota Flour Mix Ingredients:
1 cup gram flour (Besan) - Chickpea Flour
2 tbsp rawa / suji
Salt as require
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chilli powder if desired
2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp coriander seeds (Dhaniya)
1/4 tsp Carom Seeds (Ajwayan)
1/2 tsp Variyali (Sauf) - Fennel Seeds
1/4 tsp Kala Mari, crushed (Black Pepper)
1/2 tsp hing
Mix all dry ingredients. This dry mix can be stored up to 3 months to prepare recipes like Bhajia, Pakora, Pudas and more..
When ready to make Gota, add following ingredients to 1 cup Gota mix
1/2 cup chopped coriander leaves
1/2 cup Fenugreek Leaves if available
2 green chilli finely chopped
1 1/2 tsp ginger greted
2-3 tbsp warm oil
1 lemon's juice or Vinegar
1/4 tsp Baking soda. For frying option, leave out soda
Water as require
