Homemade French Fries | Not So Junky - by Chef Siddharth | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Love french fries, but not the calories that come with it? Try this healthy version by Chef Siddharth.

HOMEMADE FRENCH FRIES

Ingredients

4 medium non-starchy potatoes, peeled and cut into fingers
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil
Tomato sauce
3 cups fresh tomato puree
¼ cup honey
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
½ teaspoon dried ginger powder
Black salt to taste
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon vinegar

Method

1. Heat some water in a deep non-stick pan and bring to boil.
2. Add potato fingers and salt and cook till the potato fingers are almost done. Strain.
3. To prepare tomato sauce, heat tomato puree in a non-stick pan. Add honey, chilli powder, dried ginger powder and black salt, mix and cook on low heat till the mixture reduces.
4. Freeze the boiled potato fingers for 20-25 minutes. Transfer in a zip-lock bag and again freeze for 2-3 hours.
5. Preheat air fryer to 180º C.
6. Add olive oil to frozen potato fingers and shake well. Transfer into an air fryer basket.
7. Put the basket into the preheated air fryer and air fry for 12-15 minutes.
8. Add salt to the sauce and mix. Add vinegar, mix and cook for 2 minutes.
9. Transfer air-fried French fries on the worktop, add salt and mix well.
10. Serve hot with tomato sauce.
